“Change is the only constant in life” – these words by Heraclitus have been running through my mind all day.
Maybe it’s to do with the new year, changes around town or, more likely, my own physical and spiritual changes. I have always thought that although change is inevitable, there is always a peaceful core stability to retreat to. I still believe this, despite what is manifesting in my life for me!
In order to find this inner core stability, I have had to let go of a lot of rubbish which has been fantastic. But… as I look back on 2014, I realise I have been peeling back layers of an onion, and with that analogy, there are still many more layers to come. In saying that, the core of inner stability is ever-present, reaching it is more about adapting my way of being.
And that is life: Peeling back the layers to get to the core, at times even layering up again. So maybe Heraclitus is right. Maybe I am right. Honestly, I think we are both right.
Change is about letting go and adjusting to a new way of being. Recently I wrote about connection, and that is vital too, but I think the very next step is about adjusting to what you really want. Why? So that when your heart’s desire manifests before your eyes you are ready to run with it. Sounds incredibly obvious, but let me tell you, after months and years of visualising, feeling, Imagineering (thanks Walt Disney) your heart’s desire, something changes. Then it’s there, your manifestation is really there in front of you in full 3-D tangibility.
The question now becomes are you ready you grab and run with both hands, or are you suspended in (dis)belief that you actually managed to make this happen?
Some of you say ‘Doh, who wouldn’t be ready?’ But some of you will answer ‘OMG I can’t believe this happened…’ and in that moment of ‘I cant believe’ or similar, we will miss that vital ‘opportunity’ to run with our desires. Without your personal support team around you, you will be so busy feeling excited, gasping, ringing your mates that you may well miss the opportunity.
That wise old man Heraclitus also mentioned not being able to step into the same river twice, and once we miss that opportunity, we have a few more layers to peel back before we get to step in the river again. Of course, the river will have changed. New waters will be flowing past you, the river bed will have different sands and possibly even changed course.
The Universe in all her wisdom, will have made sure we get another go. Yes, circumstances may well have changed, but we get to try that manifestation again. Slightly different and maybe not in the form we first imagined, but another go – isn’t it a total relief to know the best, certainly, has yet to come? It is for me!
So we have another go, and this time, having connected, we learn to be present. Our heart’s desire arrives and we grab and run with that opportunity – we run right over the bridge the Universe built across that river and we bring our manifestation into our heart-space. We literally go with the flow. We now stop and enjoy it. We look back and only then see the bridge. That is when we realise we have we have followed the still voice within, the voice leading us on the path to our greatest wisdom, which has led to inspired change, no matter how many times we have tried.
Thank-you 2014 for your wonderful lessons in growth, peace and change. Hello 2015 and all your wonderful opportunities we have yet to adjust to. Keep dreaming, keep changing and adjusting, your heart’s desire is closer than you think.
Heraclitus may be the king of change, but I know this year will be the year of inner peace and stability, my wish is peace for you, always, all ways. 2015, stay blessed.
