Re: Invitation to the 3rd British Congress on Medicine & Spirituality – London 2011
We would like to invite you to participate in our Third British Congress on Medicine and Spirituality, to take place in London during the period 5th & 6th November 2011. This event is an initiative of the British Union of Spiritist Societies (BUSS) and the International Spiritist Medical Association (AME-Int).
In the last decade the connection between Medicine and Spirituality has been discussed in various international meetings in Europe and in the Americas. These meetings are important attempts to bring religion and health together again after the great gap imposed partially by unfortunate political crimes committed in the name of various religious and a distancing reaction from the part of scientists and health professionals during the XIX and XX centuries.
The success of two previous congresses also held in London encouraged us to pursue the organization of future meetings to attend the growing interest amongst health practitioners in exploring the possibilities of treating patients based on a holistic concept derived from the spiritualistic view that body, mind and soul are integral parts of the human being, rather than isolated components. The first congress was held in June 2007, and was attended by 428 participants of which only 7 were doctors and health professionals. The second congress which took place in November 2009 had a total of 150 health professionals attending, including doctors, nurses and therapists. We expect that the Third British Congress on Medicine and Spirituality 2011 will also be a great success.
We hope you will be able to attend the Third British Congress on Medicine and Spirituality.
Dr M Nobre - president AME-I & Elsa Rossi - Chairperson BUSS ( the organiser)
